Z Force Shafted!

This pic may not mean much to most of you, infact to many of us it represents one of the low points in the toy range, but, to me, this is the best part of the last hour's work!

I've just struggled with make it from misb. [many thanks Lady Jaye!]

Man, it was not easy! I'm a 33 year old man with reasonable intelligence and I found it bloody hard work.

Removing the parts off the sprules was painstaking as I was worried I'd break the parts and then trying to follow the instructions to assemble it! And the stickers were incredibly fiddly!

I had this one and the other 2 as a kid and I have no recollection of any moments' trouble putting any of them together. As I seem to remember it, they were a piece of cake.

Also, to make things worse, this my second attempt! A few months back I bought all 3 pacrats, misb.

I carefully put them all together and managed to knacker EVERY one.

I broke the connectors on some of the red and black missiles on the Dart. Snapped the connectors where the legs attach to the body on the first shaft and managed to loose the aerial for the lance within minutes of opening it up. I searched everywhere in that room and it still remains unfound .

Anyway, my moan is about how bloody difficult they are to put together without breaking anything.

And they were supposed to be for kids of 4 and up!

You managed tho !!

well done !

I think the plastic is very brittle so as an adult you are extra careful, I think as a child you dont seem to care !

I dont recall having trouble with this first time around (25 yrs ago).

maybe the plastic gets more brittle with age or something ??

i never had problems building toys when i was a kid and dont remember ever looking at instructions

the last 2 christmas's i've been up to the small hours building my kids toys cursing whatever idiot wrote the instructions and more times than not i've damaged their toys before they have even opened them. i think as adults (i use the term lightly) we are overly careful and try too hard. kids have wee fingers as well

I spend hours every christmas and birthdays trying to remove toys from the packaging !!!!!

bloody wires everywhere !

I remember a few years ago when my daughter was into Bratz and Barbies !

they had a wire on every ankle, wrist, neck waist etc

and then ........

the bloomin hair was Stitched into the background of the packaging to keep that "swish" look !!!

I had to unpick all the stitching just to get it out of the box ! kids dont have patience for that

3 hours later ......

i use really sharp scissors and just cut through the wire. just bought my daughter some bratz stuff for christmas. not looking forward to christmas eve. made the mistake one year of leaving things unopened then spent most of christmas morning trying to open/build most of the things. the kids learned some new swear words that day

You assemble stuff for them? That would mean my parents would have the privilege of breaking off my missile rack on the apc, and snapping the landing gear of the rattler instead of me... sob sob...

That was always a lot of the fun for me, seeing all the af and joe boxes lined up, wondering which one to slowly take out the box and assemble first...

Generally the Shaft stops standing up and drops down to one side after it has been played with for a while !!

I know it sounds wrong !
