The idea was for an homage to classic 1950s jets, so it is sprayed aluminium (though it does look greyer than I’d planned). Black and green edging to the wings and body, give
I removed the normal figure back peg from the seats, so that I can seat my Palitoy pilots inside. My wife helped with elasticated seat straps, with small press stud buckles, which look fairly effective I think. I’ve also added part of a damaged radio pack (upside down) to the rear of the pilot’s seat. I'll probably lose the seat covers (old TIE Fighter stickers!), which I just wanted to cover the hole left by the figure peg being removed.
Included for diorama depth are some airfield vehicles – a tractor unit, with quick custom Ground Crew figure; that generator unit from an earlier post (I’d planned it to go with this set); and the wheeled armature used to push aircraft around (using elasticated cord and press stud to connect to the front wheel of an aircraft). The armature isn’t in the end quite long enough – doh!
Hope you like them . . .
