AARRGGHH I Bought A Repro (Part 2)

Post by Graham_UK »

Hi all, So some of you may remember last year when I found out that my USS Flagg Fantail railing was infact a repro piece. (Documented in AARRGGHH I Bought A Repro (Part 1)

Now, just over a year on I (Thought) I'd finally completed my Night Force Figure set, the final figure was Lt. Falcon to complete. Last night whilst a bit tipsy on fine ale decided to further examine my latest purchase only to discover his antennaa that fits in the backpack is indeed a resin copy, a very good resin copy but still a copy!! AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH RRRRAAAAGGGEEE!!!!! Just venting. I spent £30 which is a good price to get one complete and I have to admit, the backpack is original and he only has the smallest of cracks on his right elbow so I don't feel too cheated but I'm back to the point where I need that bloody antenna again! I think.... I'm going to save up and get carded! Unless ofcourse there's a kind soul that has a nice spare?????

Damn those meddling kids.

As and when you get the real deal I will happily take the repro off of your hands mate :.

Haha! yeah no problem! I have to admit, getting all the Nightforce Figures has been a nightmare, I don't know how many you now have (Apart from Lt. Falcon) but there's so many issues with the accessories for example:

-Muskrat's machete, I have the Battlecorps "Bendy" Version, Very hard to find the proper "Rigid" one
-Charbroil's "Non Bendy" hose, this I have, the hose should be of pretty much hard plastic rather than the standard bendy one
-Spearhead's machete, same issue as Muskrat's machete

Basically the Battlecorps range reissued several of the weapons again in black but of course they're made of a softer plastic. If you want them NF set as originally intended be prepared for lots of shocks :-( Unless you can find a really clued up seller then you're going to have all the fun that I've had! Plus there's plenty of "Repro" / fakes around!

There were a bunch of complete figures that sold yesterday on Ebay.
They all went for high £30's - Low £40's each.

I only have 3 x night force figures so far so still a lot to get.

My Joe collection has slowed down quite a bit as I am now working more on Action force.
I use to have loads of 80's stuff but sold it all as I decided to concentrate on one line instead of many.
That was working well until I joined here and now I have two lines to pay out for Doh!!!

Yeah Sometimes you can be really lucky! Buying with the filecard is more cost effective as some of the 2nd wave figures (charbroil, light foot) can go for £20+ each. I was lucky , I put a fairly nice charbroil together for £24 but I paid £30-£50 each for the rest. I still need charbroils and light foots fc.

I'm currently paying for a Nightstriker that's costing a fair bit but I saw a boxed night scrambler sell for £80 last year. Prices are very changeable!
