They'd have to be pretty deep to grip the figure, but that may well work. Not sure how you'd cast one either?

Maybe a ridge at the flipper end for it to slip under and add some extra grip - thought it might be simpler than some big thing but maybe not!

I dallied with a clear attachment that glued onto a regular stand, and use them for my Divers, but I wasn't happy with the see through plastic I used, as it yellowed a lot.
