Max Steel is back!

Seen episode 2 yesterday, and it confirms something I was afraid of: Elementor is changed into "the Elementors", each of one element.
Now, while it doesn't totally feel like Max Steel (and his father, despite still being named Jim, seems to not be Big Jim as in the old series), it still have some positive things: Max quickly tells his feelings to the gal he likes, so we won't suffer a tedious "I like her, but she dates the sport jock" or something like that. Another cliche that gets subverted is the "clueless mom" as Molly McGrath results to be a former N-Tek agent and finds about Max's powers when two Elementors capture Max.
But there's a negative point unrelated to changes, too: the part where Berto tests Max against some robots (prototypes for Cytro, maybe?) is too long for a mere training scene.

Aaand with the third episode ends the pilot mini-series. Nothing new to add except that Cytro now is an automaton controlled by Berto.

Yup, this is the info about the original version of the character:

Dr. Roberto Martinez - A technical genius in his late teen years. Best known as 'Berto (a diminutive of his name), is the main expert on Nano-Technology, the microscopic machines which gave Max Steel his superhuman abilities. 'Berto is usually based at the HQ of the secret intelligence service N-Tek where he monitors Max's missions via a computer screen, but he also often takes a more active part in the missions himself. From the moment they met, he and Josh became very close: Josh would call Roberto "Bro", who would respond with the Spanish version, "Hermano".

However, the modern version, while still a young genius, doen't seem so friendly towards Max.
