There are types of Shadows - the older ones which have 'crap' hands that are way too large [similar to the diver figures], are made from more flexible plastic and less 'shiny'

And there are the later versions, better hands and stronger, more shiny plastic.

For a fiver it would have to be a complete 'second version' in my opinion. With perfect paint job and a nice skull and bones on the head.

You see some of the Shads going on ebay for six or seven quid and they are the battered older versions with no weapons and half of the logo left on their heads. Just Nuts.

I bought a lot of 15 Shads off ebay [all the earlier versions] for about £12 ten months back. That's how it should be now....

Are you mad? The ones with the "crap" hands are the decent ones!



They have FAR superior paint jobs, and look menacing as hell, whereas the later ones are a slightly more pink colour, with blurrier logos, and ALWAYS have a downs-syndrome look around the eyes. OK, they have better hands and thicker soles, but their heads are smaller! The peak is also less defined on the face visor.

I had one of them as I kid, and he was instantly renamed as Red Dufus. And you'll never find one with black gloves.

A Shad is a Shad in my eyes! I've got a mixed bag of them including some German ones. Just wish they were cheaper! Unlike those lots the other week that went for close to £100.

I have two of each version (well, one is Red Vulture) and prefer the first Red Shadow style with the bigger helmet and logo. He has a far more sinister 'face' while the newer one looks a little 'goofy'. Pity that my two 'newer' ones are the mint figures...
