Get involved please!

Post by humby248 »

I don't think I've had a moan since my rant about the Joecon stuff but something I've noticed is bothering me. Why is it that there seems to be alot of views on some posts but so little replies? This is especially the case with customs. Take War Departments Mutron for example. It has had 65 views but only 7 replies? Who are these viewers that are'nt getting involved? It always seems to the same people contributing. I know that customizing might not be everyones main interest but feedback is always good. The customizers amongst us are always grateful for replies even if they may contain a suggestion on how to improve the custom etc
I would say that Eddie's (for example) main interest does not lie in customs but he does post replies on them so please if you are one of the silent viewers post a comment! :)
I think alot of us customizers have been very busy lately so they have'nt exactly been coming thick and fast but I know I have at least 10 in varying stages of production that I hope to post asap. Lets hope we can make 2013 a truly great year for BFTB!

Does posting a reply to a ranting post count?? :-)

I'm often on my phone these days, after a crackdown of internet usage at work, which isn't the best of ways to view, so sometimes that's a factor with me, but it sure has been quiet of late!

No, you guys do reply when you can or make your own posts. Made me laugh when I saw 38 views and only 4 replies! So even with this thread there's still the silent lurkers not contributing :banghead:
This has been going on for quite a while before the crash. Seriously if someone takes the effort and expense to produce something wether it be a custom, art work or colouring project etc if you have interest enough to view it at least make a contribution with a comment. My series 1 Artic concept had 62 views and 7 replies!
I've had a couple of custom ideas nicked (not posted on here) which does'nt bother me too much as mimicry is the highest form of flattery but at least post a reply saying you like it and are going to copy.
I don't want to be rude or scare anyone off here at all I just want to keep the site strong and help it to grow. I was'nt too sure of things when I first joined so I pm'ed Andy1672 a couple of times first and he advised me. So come on silent ones make yourself known! :)

Well said humby. I do have ideas but my lack of getting paints just for undercoating has squashed my projects.
Spock, where the hell's the power you promised?

I've always been surprised how few people vote on the custom of the month thread.

Personally, I do look at some threads, have to go and do something in the real world and then forget to post a reply (your Series 1 Arctic custom is an example of this). I also do go back to custom threads simply to look at the pictures again, or see what else others have said. That won't always lead me to make a further comment though.

At the end of the day, people will only post if they want to. We can't force anyone out there who just wants to be a vouyer.
