Skyfall (possible spoilers)

Post by Red Baron »

I went to see the new James Bond on Friday evening with my wife - a rare night out these days! Far better than Quantum of Solace and I felt it was very good value against the outrageous price you have to pay to see films these days - must mean I enjoyed it! A decent storyline and an excellently played enemy, plus a few nods to the classic era of Bond.

I'd have to see it again to decide whether I rank it over Casino Royale, but at the moment I think Casino Royale wins as it was such a great way to re-launch and re-package the Bond series to the modern style they now have.

It will be interesting to see where they take it in the next film and whether they ever decide to pick up the threads left over from mid-way through Quantum of Solace and explore the global organisation behind Le Chiffre, Mr White et al.

On a different note, as the original poster prices are so outrageously high on eBay at the moment, does anyone have any suggestions of where I can go to pick them up at realistic prices (or does anyone here have friends / relatives that work for a cinema - I'm happy to pay!).

Look forward to your thoughts on the film.

Saw Skyfall yesterday and was extremely impressed. It's premise is unlike any other Bond film and Dame Judi Dench is fantastic in it. Also very interested to see where they go next with it.

I did try to watch Quantum of solace on the James Bond channel but fell asleep too often so I'm hoping to catch it again before seeing skyfall.
Spock, where the hell's the power you promised?

I've seen it and although it started well I thought it was average. I thought the pissed off former agent out for revenge has been done before and the bad guy's plot to discredit and kill M was way too over elaborate even for a Bond film. Javier Bardem was overly hammy and his talents werent fully used. I don't think the Bond girls, although pretty, were upto previous standards either but then again I'm obsessed with Eva Green! The novelty of bringing back the DB5 has also been done before.

I know a lot of people liked it, it's just my opinion. I put aside the fact that I think Daniel Craig is a poor Bond, a poor mans Timothy Dalton who I think was very underrated.

I ain't seen it yet, but am planning to..that is, if it's still showing when I'm off work @ the end of the month. I'm not letting Adele's awful theme tune put me off either, her breathy werewolf howling during a full moon vocals get right on my tits.

Does the DB 5 have (or use) any of the gadgets in this one?
