ARGEN 7 #1 Argentina's Elite Previews and Discussion

Post by jamarmiller »

Okay so I love the foreign characters in the GI JOE universe and that is NOT limited to ACTION FORCE.

With Ninja-ku, Satan, and Glenda ( homages) being released by Hasbro its put a little spark into me. ( Which is why I did the Assassins in Brazil story found in the Action Force Best of Collection Volume 1 : International Heroes book.)

But I wanted more and sooooooo I thought it was about time something was done for the Argen 7 .

And with that I give you....................

COMING SOON ONLY ON http://www.bloodforthebaron.com

Argen 7 Issue #1 Cover below! ( NOT FINAL and a work in progress)

Good stuff , also cool its Argentine .. I always disliked the fact that when Action Force originally came out that alot of Jingoism was going on in United Kingdom following The Falklands War .. there was alot of anti Argentinian sentiment in the press and media ... The reality was that the Argentine soldiers were mainly conscripts who didn't want to be there in first place whilst the real evil was The Junta that ruled the country ..Bloodhound was cool as it didn't take an anti Argentine stance (it showed eventually The SAS working with the Argentinians so it was good for that).
So its neat that an Argentine Action Force /GI Joe team story can exist .these guys coould be hunting down Red Shadows too seeing as its The Barons favourite haunt South America.

THANKS! and ya thats exactly what I thought too about the Barons favourite Haunt being in South American and all . I was like , if the Baron is always down there and south america is always mentioned then thats got to be used/mentioned !! They have HAD to have some interactions with the RED SHADOWS!

I was also like WHY did Glenda meet the fate that she did in GI JOE #41 by DDP ( or around that issue at least) at the hands of the RED SHADOWS! which in my mind is because she had experiences with them????? perhaps???? WHO WAS IT that was talking to her too????

There is somethings in her file card too that is going to connect them all as well. ( read it on yojoe.com if interested)

Full out Data files coming soon on these characters!

Very cool!!!!

Interesting that you use the term "Argen 7" to refer to 7 of the Argentinean exclusive GOOD GUY characters! I like it! :-)

When I coined the phrase back in 2000, I was using it to refer to the 7 straight arm Argentinean characters who had never been released in the US (series 1 Cobra Invasor, and all 6 series 2 figures).

But using it to refer to a special Argentinean GI Joe force of 7 is brilliant!!!

My hat's off to you! Can't wait to read it!

Take care,
Aire

That's the first time I have read any of these bits, its really good! So by now daughter of EAgle should be old enough for a military career!

Looking forward to reading more.
When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?

COOL! ya most people dont know alot about the foreign guys and lately thats where my passion has been

when writting the file cards I used the original short ones from Argentina as a starting point

So when I say her father was killed heroicially thats exactly what was said on her file card. I just elaborated on WHO was responsible ( bring in a young BARON IRONBLOOD)

and actually the Child would only be about 2-3 years old !

her death only happened about 2 years ago ! and in my time line AF was reinstated about the time of the AE Issue #1

RED DAWN takes place as soon as FLINT leaves the team in AE.

so ya only about 2-3 year old

I try to stay away from actual dates and ages to avoid future problems though LOL
