Custom Q Force Deep Sea Divers

Post by paulitoy »

For each of theses divers, I had to saw up 3.

One, below the 'Goldfish Bowl rim' to use for the helmet, one above the 'Goldfish Bowl' rim for the main body and another for the head.

6 :qforce: members [R.I.P.] gave their lives so that these 2 customs could be made.

And for once Baron, the helmet will fit on!

Although its not quite right because there is the double rim...

Well done on finding a decent customised use for the original diver figures now :)

Go on do a Muton custom without the main helmet, could use the head off an Overkill?

You know Andy, I did consider doing a Muton version.

Decided against it as the head piece with all the attachments would look a bit ridiculous in the hand and the figure might not be able to stand with it.

Great idea for the inside head, though.

Come on dear fellow forum members, someone have a go and lets see how it turns out!

What about making the black helmet removable, but leaving the green eyeball stalk in place?

Or the muton with the helmet off and a skeletron head!?

These are really superb.
When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?

That's what I'm working on. I have cut the helmet off using a Stanley knife, so there's no double rim, but it did take (litterally) hours. What to put inside is the challenge, as most heads are actually too big. The green T shaped thing that hold all the attachments also has to be cut into pieces, and sanded down etc. A Skeletron head is a good idea, but chopping up a Skeletron just seems wrong! Anyone have any ideas from Star Wars or GI JOe?

What about an Ironblood head? The Baron's already disguised himself as a Red Shadow, so why not a Muton? Or even as a personal escape suit?Sort of like a mini all weather and environment Escape Armour.

Excellent idea there Mr Major!
In battle he could lose himself amongst 100`s of mutons and no-body would be any the wiser :)

Muton, its great to hear that you are working on a custom Muton - can't wait to see it!

I have cut the helmet off using a Stanley knife, so there's no double rim, but it did take (litterally) hours.

When I made the custom :qforce: deep sea divers I literally sawed the head off with a small hacksaw about 3 or 4 mim above the rim. Then I used a dremel to sand away the 3/4 mm and make it all smooth. It took about half an hour.

Probably easier that using a stanley knife as the plastic on the main body is very hard and - like you said - would take ages to cut through.

Still, looking forward to the finished results!
