SHADOWTRAK 'fan art'

Post by Crimson Rage »

I don't know if anyone saw the 'technical profiles' for GI JOE & Cobra vehicles over at Joebattlelines.com that I did a few years back. I had to stop doing them when my computer went down and I lost all my software.
Well, I'm trying to start up again with my laptop. The art program just isn't as good as the one I lost, but I managed to cobble together a SHADOWTRAK profile. I may try and do a few more, but in the meantime...

The wheels are rubbish I know, but again I blame my 'tools' for not allowing me to do concentic circles. Everything has to be done 'by eye' so that explains why they aren't as round I'd like (and the hubs are a bit off centre too!). I also had to reduce the size a bit to fit it on this forum. Things are a bit clearer on the full-size version.

Excellent stuff there! Don't worry about file sizes, the forum should auto-thumbnail anything too large. Great work!

What prog you use? You do it via CADCAM or you use illustrator or equivalent?

Nothing so bold!
Serif Photoplus 6 is all I have available, which makes these a lot trickier than the ones I used to do. Here's a Cobra MANTIS and Joe SNOWCAT over on JoeBattlelines. As you can see, they're a lot more intricate and involved. Back then I had better software and a scanner so I could add my own hand-drawn 'driver' artwork.
Not anymore alas! Compared to the old stuff, I think my latest are bland and badly laid out. I need more practice...
