Just checked out the wiki entry for kelly: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ned_Kelly and you're bang on kelly's armour is very similar.

Was hoping someone might have some stories up their sleeve as to how the baron chose the helmet, some sort of indiana-jones-discover-it-in-an-ancient-aztec-temple type thing?

Would be nice to see sketches of it, similar to the ones in the annuals those engineering drawing type doo-dahs of the vehicles.

Go for it!

I keep meaning to do some fanfic myself, I want something to explain what Moondancer and Red Wolf were up to during World Enemy #1, and how they ended up in the new teams as a result. Would be nice to thread in Dolphin somehow too...

In fact, while I'm on the subject, do you have any plans on adding the DD Shadows to your Timeline, Barto?

might get round to it, I'm in the middle of catching up on the joe universe:

waiting for the last trade book of america's elite (only read vols 1-4)

reading CBR's of the original joes (only up to issue 16, and have read what was republished in the 50 marvel Action Force's).

trying to get hold of the other devils due trades (read vol 2, 5 and 8 so far)

once I'm up to date I might finally finish the timeline!

I always figured that since he was a mad scientist type, building things like :skeletron: , and :muton: , it was just a welding mask.

To me, Baron Ironblood's helmet is as iconic as Cobra Commanders.

I always saw it as a piece of hi-tech equipment with 'Heads Up Displays', communicators and limited life-support.
It had to be that shape to reflect the figure, but the comics certainly made a potentially 'boring' design look far more dynamic and interesting. I just wish the action figure's helmet had been that cool.

Well for a start it would have voice amplification like Cobra Commander's battle helmet and maybe voice modulation for his hypnotism as well as hiding his face from the public. And most likely act as a gas mask to.
Spock, where the hell's the power you promised?

One damn minute, Admiral

it just looks like a posh recycling bin for glass for some up market yuppies in the 80s and the barons job was at the local council for recycling and everyone gave him so much stick for it he quit as it was deemed a joke and he had failed and he swore vengance on the world so he turned into the warlord he was and the helmet was has reminder to everyone

just like darth vader after star wars turned up at the council to be the school green cross code man

simple really we all know how arsie council workers get!!!!!!!!!!
