Help With Photos

Post by captainwatts »

Hi was hoping someone could explain how to put photos onto this forum.
I've taken a few of my growing collectio and wanted to share them with you all.
The simpler the instructions the better as i am an IT idiot.

Hi,

there is an add attachment thing at the bottom of the post screen. The mistake I was making was trying to put up big files (1 Mb) and it doesnt like these! After I sussed that out it was really straight forward.

As you can probably tell IT aint my thing either!

Cheers

The software with the camera should allow you to down size the file. My camera is a Kodak and the manipulation is fairly easy. It gives all sorts of options including for use on a web site (which was to low resolution).

You can also change the settings on the camera to take lower resolution pictures.

Hope that helps

try getting the free picture resizer from Microsoft.
Soooooo easy to use (I`m an IT idiot to! )
Once you install it, you right click on your pic, up comes the option to resize, and you can make
your pic to 100-600 kb each

its the 5th one up from the bottom on the right hand column

So that's what's wrong with the attachments! Been bugging me, that has.

For larger images, you'll need to open up a free imagehost (or similar) account. Upload your pics to their server, and then find the web address (URL) of the picture itself, be careful not to get the URL of the page the picture is on.

If you browse using Firefox it's easy, just right-click the picture and select "Copy image location", otherwise the quickest way I know of is to right-click the picture, hit "Properties" and copy the URL from the pop-up box.

Then, paste the URL into the forum "Post a reply" box, highlight it and hit the "Img" button. Job done.

I used Picassa II for my pics, need to open a gmail or googlemail account, create an album and then link to it (or do what i did, keep cocking it up and then The Baron comes and sorts it out!)
