Okay, this update is another big one. Finally got the figures from the States this week and started Z Force, plus finished Stakeout and Beaver plus two entirely new SAS characters.

Torso/Arms: Pirahna Shipwreck

Kukri: Chap Mei

Bio:
Codename: KUKRI
File Name: GURUNG, Ganju
Birthplace: Nepal
AF Number: AF42964
Primary Speciality: Silent Weapons
Secondary Speciality: Jungle/Mountain Warfare

Ganju Gurung’s dearest wish from the moment he learned about the regiment, was to join the Brigade of Gurkhas. From that moment on, he started honing his body and mind so that he could meet the exacting standards expected of recruits. Everyday, before he started on his chores, he would go for a run with a sack full of rocks on his back. He sought out ex members of the regiment and talked to them, accepting advice and training from them. By the time he was thirteen, he was a crack shot and an expert with edged weapons, especially the kukri, having been left one by his great grandfather who was a Gurkha. He was also learning the trade of the Sherpa and mountain work and survival, as well as jungle survival.
By the time he was old enough, and the recruitment officer turned up in his region, he was already an expert in many aspects of warfare, but he was also one of the quietist and most unassuming men in the village. His older brother was a Buddhist monk, and had a hand in Ganju’s spiritual development. The recruitment officer was immediately impressed by this modest but brilliant and tough young man and had no hesitation in recommending him for acceptance into the regiment.
He quickly rose through the ranks, receiving extra special forces training with the Royal Marine Commandos, Parachute Regiment and SAS. During this time, he worked on a degree in military history and received top marks for his dissertation on “International Terrorism”. This brought him to the attention of Action Force, with both Z Force and SAS Squad both bidding for him. In the end, it was decided to let him choose, and he chose the SAS Squad as being closest to the training he had already had.
Eagle’s Comment: “What can I say about this man. I only accept the best into The Squad, and Kukri embodies THE best of the best. What he doesn’t know about mountain and jungle warfare can be written on the back of a postage stamp in inch high letters. He moves like a jungle cat. The enemy never know he has been among them, until it is all over. Quiet, modest and a completely likeable man.”

Magpie:
Image

Head: 25th Anniversary Scarlett on JvsC Scarlett neck post
Torso/Arms: JvsC Scarlett
Waist/Legs: Link Talbot
MP5: PTE

Bio:
Codename: MAGPIE
File Name: Trencher, Sally Veronica
Birthplace: Wallsend, Tyne and Wear
AF Number: AF56491
Primary Speciality: Counter Terrorism
Secondary Speciality: Urban Assault

Sally Trencher excelled at school, both in sports and academic studies, leaving with top grades in 10 subjects including French, Russian, Mathematics, English, and Politics. She played hockey and swam butterfly at school, county and national level, winning a cupboard full of trophies. Sally was and still is a rabid Newcastle United supporter. She had one large skeleton in her closet. Her father. Phillip Trencher was a highly successful and accomplished cat burglar. In the thirty years he plied his profession, he was only caught once and had to be released due to lack of evidence. From the age of twelve, Sally accompanied her father on his “work”, learning his skills and eventually surpassing him.
After leaving university at twenty-one, all of her father’s friends expected her to follow him into a life of crime, but completely stunned them by applying for, and being accepted into, the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst. Being driven at sports, she was soon at the top of her class.
One year into her course, she was brought some crushing news by Captain Buckingham of the SAS. Her father’s luck had finally run out. He had chosen the wrong target to burgle, and had been caught and executed by a squad of Red Shadows minutes before SAS Squad raided the building. He was identified by a letter from Sally in his wallet. By rights, the academy could have expelled her, but Buckingham, impressed with her work at Sandhurst, pulled strings and she eventually graduated with the Sword of Honour and passed out as a Leftenant in the 3rd Battalion Parachute Regiment, graduating to the 1st Battalion after three years. Soon after, she met Eagle again on a joint operation with Action Force. After the mission was over, Eagle started calling in favours and eventually managed to get Sally transferred to SAS Squad.
Eagle, Stakeout and Quickfire were puzzling over what codename to assign to her one Saturday afternoon when they suddenly heard screaming coming from the television room at base. They rushed in to find Sally, with two white stripes in her hair, waving a black and white scarf and screaming her head off and waving a black and white scarf because Newcastle had just scored. Eagle threw himself down on the couch next to her to watch the game. “Magpies?” he asked her. He looked round at the other two and winked. “Magpie”
Eagle’s Comment: “Magpie probably could have been a sports star, a diplomat, or Heaven forbid, a criminal like her father. Let’s face it, she would have excelled at whatever she decided to do with her life. I can only be thankful that she decided to join the army. I can’t think of anyone else I would rather have covering my back during a raid. Okay, so she considers a pea and ham stottie, with a bottle of Newcastle Brown, to be fine cuisine and supports Newcastle United, but nobody is perfect!”

I am quite pleased with the way Magpie turned out. The legs went through several incarnations before I settled on the other set of link Talbot legs in my parts box. I might have to get a couple more of that figure next time I place a fodder order. It was a last minute decision to give her black lipstick. Not trying to make her a Goth, she just considers black lipstick to be more practical than red as it fits in nicely with urban camo paint.

I am really happy with the Skip figure. Using the hawk figure as a base, I had to sculpt the scarf, the collar and the pockets. Fortunately, the webbing fited over the top. I already had the Flint head ready. I painted up the beret to see how it looked, and i liked the hard-ass look it gave him.

Nope. They are printed out on inkjet t-shirt transfer paper, the plastic film type, then cut out and stuck on. Certain colours take matt varnish quite well without running or staining.

Flash-Bang: :sas:

Image

Figure: PTE Marine
Tactical vest: Marauder Inc
Battering Ram: Marauder Inc
MP5: Lanard
Grenades: Marauder Inc

Bio:
Codename: FLASH-BANG
File Name: M’BENGO, Wayne
Birthplace: Los Angeles, California
AF Number: AF684276
Primary Speciality: Siege Tactics
Secondary Speciality: Hostage Negotiation

Wayne M’Bengo was born the eldest of six children to African-immigrant parents in East Los Angeles. He spent much of his childhood and teens trying to avoid the gang violence and illegal activities that were rife in his neighbourhood, and trying to keep his brothers and sister out of trouble. He was a studious young man, spending most of his free time studying, but finding time for his passion for long distance running. He has taken part in 5 New York and 4 London Marathons to date. Most of his pers saw only two options in life: join a gang or go under. Wayne saw a third option: join the Los Angeles Police Department and try to make a difference on the streets that he grew up on.
After ten years on the streets, he was promoted to Sergeant, and rather than go behind a desk, he applied for special training. His calm, pleasant manner made him a natural at hostage negotiation, and his instructors recommended him for SWAT. He took to his new duties naturally, earning himself numerous awards and citations and a promotion to Lieutenant.
After eight years with SWAT, he was headhunted by the FBI for their SWAT unit, to take charge of the LA Office unit. Another seven years passed, with work in drug enforcement, anti-terrorism and alcohol, tobacco and firearms work in abundance for him. He was looking forward to retirement. Then the world began to change. Terrorism came home to almost every country in the world, especially America, with the rise of Cobra, and The Red Shadows in South America, Europe and Asia.
Two days before retirement, he was called into the office of the assistant director. He was introduced to a well dressed Englishman, who the ADC addressed only as “Eagle”. Eagle came straight to the point and asked him why he had originally joined LAPD. Eagle sat and listened for two hours to Wayne talking about his experiences, especially with the FBI. Then he asked a question:
“You are about to retire. What if I gave you an opportunity to make a real difference on the world stage? Fighting global terrorism?”
Wayne looked hard at him:
“I have two children and three grandchildren. I don’t want them growing up afraid of the dark. You tell me I can make a difference? That I can help make the world safe? What do I have to do?”
Eagle stood up and nodded to the FBI ADC. He shook Wayne’s hand and left the room. The following week, Wayne travelled to the Action Force Base in Colorado for SAS training.

Eagle’s Comment: “You have a hostage situation where you don‘t want to go in all guns blazing. You call for Flash-Bang. If the talks fail, he will get you into the building and get the hostages out alive with hardly a shot fired.”

Very nice work indeed.

They look fantastic each one of them. Though if you need a British S10 respirator for Eagle pm me your address. Have a few of these from the Intoys SWAT figures.
Look great with some straps added.

Again great work as always.
