Yeah I always thopught the red Cobra Commander was a bit of a nod and a wink towards Red Laser, and the Baroness in red always lends itself to her either joining forces with the Red Shadows or the Baron captured her and brainwashed her to his side.

When I first saw the Crimson Guard on the back of an 1987 Action Force card I nearly dropped it coz my first thought was "a new Red Shadow figure!!!!"

I'm sure I've read somewhere that Hasbro did take inspiration from overseas versions of GI Joe, wasn't the Slaughters MArauders Sgt, Slaughter a pretty much direct release of the Argetine/Brazillian version of the wrestler?

And Big Ben was surely meant as a homage to Action Man himself

Oh and I love the Action Man figure Hasbro put out a couple of years back as part of the Night Force 6-pack, in his orange vest too. Magic

Na he wasnt, I got the brazilian one and his colors are , how should I say, realistic, in the choice of colors

I LOVE that one too! I made sure I bought that pack, infact to be honest I only bought that pack because of him

I didnt really care about the others LOL

I wish they would do the rest of the characters of ACTION Man in this format,

Action Man is a good concept but the 12 inch doll thing isnt working with the kids today

and the ATOM line was crap and not even ACTION MAN anyways

Yes I too bought the whole set just for Action Man, the other Night Force figures in the set are okay-ish but the camo scheme on them doesn't work for me, Action Man is very good however.

Yeah I really keep meaning to read up more about the later versions of Action Man (ie him in the Orange top) and was it Doctor X his nemesis? I remember a a guy with a mohichan in a purple jumpsuit that him?

I'm sure I remember from your posts on Joe Sightings, that wasn't there a Scarlett type character but with diffferent colour hair?

Were those cartoons only shown in Europe or where? I don't remember them in the UK.

ya Dr X was his nemesis but over time he lost the Mohawk ( thank god ) and got a much better look

his look in the final 3 years before the line was canned before ATOM took over for a year and a half was the best, completely bald, the 3 CGI movies were a lot of fun to watch.

THere has been two GOOD females in the whole ACTION MAN line ( check out the boards new ACTION MAN section ) one was Natalie and she had blonde hair, then the scarlett one from the 2nd CGI MOVIE ( IM TALKING MOVIES HERE AND NOT THE CRAPPY CGI SERIES ) is REBEL and she was just a black uniformed scarlett, same hair color infact LOL

I will be posting that review along with the entire movie on this site at a later date, so keep an eye out on the ACTION MAN section for that

there was the very well done ACTION MAN series in 1997 that was shown in the US but at a very early time ( like 5:30 in the freaking morning ) and then there was the very bad CGI series done by mainframe that made him american, and a extreme sports star. That series is painful to watch, that was shown in the US too and had a better time slot but because it was sooo bad it killed the line.

from what I understand and have heard , toy laws in the UK prevented the shows to appear on tv so they went straight to video over there

Now the CGI movies ( 3 of them ) 2 was available ONLY in the UK and the last 1 was ONLY in Mexico and only had spanish track

I have all 3 of these movies and they do make a nice trilogy, sadly I dont understand spanish but I still enjoyed it, I will be posting review and everything soon in the new action man section of these boards.

Im missing about 3 episodes from the 1997 series that I would love to get some day to complete the series. They did a great job on that series and it had some really good potential.

Mind you there was some real duds in that one too, so it was far from being perfect, but they had set up a very "LOST" like series for action man with a rich rich backstory

it was sad to see that one end

Again watch the ACTION MAN section of these boards

What were the names of the two CGI Action Man movies that weren't Mexico only?

I'd like to get them on DVD, the style is very similar to "Spy Troops" and "Valor vs Venom" CGI movies both of which I managed to get on Region 1 DVD.

Amazon UK have some Action Man DVDs for sale but I'm not sure which ones are the CGI movies

ACTION MAN ROBOT ATAK was the first one, its not the best of the 3 but its the first in the trilogy. you can get it pretty cheap, they gave it away free in several different ways, so dont pay alot. if you watch this one PLEASE do yourself a favor and watch the next one!

then the next one is

ACTION MAN X- Missions and this one is the best, They did take a lot of valor vs venom stuff and the story is very very similar but its really fun to watch and is definately the best of the 3.

youll see some cobra and joe stuff appear in the movie.

The Gangrene code is impossible to find but that is the one from Mexico, I got my copy because I was lucky enough to have a contact in the UK that was working on the line at the time and he managed to get me one and send it to me.

Many many thanks for the info

Crikey only now do I realise these 2 CGI Action Man movies have been under my nose and for bargain prices too

I love Spy Troops and Venom vs Valor DVDs, I know they're aimed at kids but that's just my level

Sick of me asking questions yet?

Got both Robot Atak and X-Missions, both really cool, great to hear Stephen Berkoff doing the voice of Dr X.

Couldn't get over how many scenes were cut and paste from Valor vs Venom!!!

Thanks for pointing me in the direction of these 2 DVDs, they only cost me a couple of quid as well.

Just for Scarlett in a wet suit talking with an English accent would be worth the price alone LOL
