US Funds problem
Hey Im having a problem with a purchase I made on ebay. The seller sent me an email saying he couldnt cash the money order becouse it was in US funds and banks over there wouldnt cash it,which is weird for me becouse Ive done buisness with peaple in England before and they never had any problem, Am I being Hosed? Right now i dont know what to do and am worried. Can anyone tell me if toydreamsuk is on the up and up?Id add a link to the item but I dont know how. Funny thig is he had listed a shipping rate to the US and sent me a total in US funds. i think the item number is 230215004982. Anyways I hope someone can help me.
Re: US Funds problem
Don't know about the UK/US cheque thing, but toydreamsuk is a great, honest reputable seller for sure.
I've bought loads from them in the past and never a moments trouble. I'd totally recommend.

But get them to return the money order before you arrange another payment. Paypal really is the best way to go, if you can't do that then get some cash exchanged and send it securely (I always hide it in a CD/DVD box with the coins sellotaped down).

Re: US Funds problem
before paypal i used to get a lot of US currency money orders which are a hassle to cash but it can be done... it does however take a lot of time before you get the money and the charges are very high, in one case more than the value of the money order.

Re: US Funds problem
I`ve only taken one cheque in dollars , and as far as I remember, if it is under £30 there is no charge. But as said, it does take a while to clear.

Re: US Funds problem
the only problem with that is that I cant cash the money order becouse its made out already out and i cant get the funds from the company becouse it would cost me a large fee, just wish they would have said something in the ebay listing,so basically im boned, out 15 bucks, got no Red Shadow, and no recourse. I should have figured though, everything does seem to go south for me.
Re: US Funds problem
How is the order made out? To the shop itself? I was just wondering if they forwarded it on to me if I could cash it myself and pay them on your behalf.

it was made out to a Alex Beasley,he said he was going to email me but i havent heard a thing,Im thinking of contacting ebay and seeing what they can do since i cant seem to get him to answer any of my messages.
Re: US Funds problem
Hmmm nightmare! Sounds like he's mistaken about not being able to cash it though.

Re: US Funds problem
i just got an email from him saying it would cost him 10 pounds to cash it. I told him he should come on here to talk,i also opened a dispute on ebay becouse i thought he was ignoring me,now i feel bad about it. Does it cost 10 to cash a money order for 15 us dollars? sounds nuts. anyways I hope this gets settled soon.
