Controversy in the Toy Room!!!

Post by SteveD »

I'm currently getting towards the end of a bit of a reshuffle and tidy up in the Toy Room, which has led to somewhat of a controversial reshuffle in one of the cabinets, the installation of a lovely new DVD tower, and a good few other changes in there.

It was getting way too cluttered in there and the Action Man frenzy that I went on a few months back didn't really help. I also needed to free up some space for more MOC items to be displayed in the future (once more cases are purchased!), and to put some of my customs on display, as previously they were unceremoniously stuffed in a shoe box once finished.

I'll post some pics up when I've finished (hopefully next day or two) but for the time being - controversy abounds, as:-

BONG!!!! - Series 1 Action Force loose collection has been bagged up and put away

(thats an old picture - it got a LOT more cluttered since that one was taken)

BONG!!!! - Series 3 Action Force and Cobra loose (and everything after that!) has been bagged up and put away.

Image

BONG!!!! - some of the MIB items from Flash Gordon and my Fall Guy byplane have been boxed up and put away.

I already know that some folks will prefer how the Toy Room was rather than how it currently is, but after 18 months in it's previous guise I wanted a bit of a change and to showcase a few different bits and pieces. And obviously, for those averse to change I would point out:-

(1) It's my f'ing house, so why should you care;
(2) Series 2 AF remains in full force, with 2/3 of available cabinet space taken up!

Image

(3) It's an awful lot better than my previous display facilities - the kitchen worktop in my old Bachelor Pad:-

More news as we have it.....

I'm sure it will still look as good with the changes you are planning!
When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?

They're currently on a recon mission to the garage, where they have recieved reports of alien races, a massive collection of vintage cars, and (rumour has it) a lost enclave of individuals following some hokey religion that's no substitute for a good blaster!

They may be on this mission for some time.

I quite like the worktop look you had going there :-)

Do you not worry about damp if you store them in the garage?

It was a good look wasn't it? Nice and shiny. They sort of got in the way when cooking though!

And no fears on the garage damp situation - it's a built in garage, so is as Tattooine in there!

Still looks good to me Steve..less is more as the saying goes.

Just a little suggestion... if you cut down the numbers troop builders, say to 1 of each + major variants, you could have a much wider variety of figures on display in the same space....but thats just how I'd set things up if I had a such a fab command centre ( or such massive armies) to play with.
More news, as its made, from new Action Force!
