That sounds a bit harsh, I mean the scum nicks the money & you're the one who's in trouble.
Not so long ago, one of my work colleagues gave a 80 quid refund to a guy who had no receipt.
Turns out the bloke had just walked into the shop, put the goods into his bag when nobody was looking, then went to the counter producing said goods out of bag with a cock & bull story about "Spoke to your manager on the phone about a getting refund" & our man simply gave him the money without asking a word!!!
The even more astounding thing, apart from a quick "dont do it again" from the boss, no official disciplinary action was taken against said colleague!
