Generally yes but not enough to collect / arrange courier.

The seller sure sounds like a moron, you'd think they'd of sorted some form of packaging & had worked out how to dispatch the item before they had offered the goods for sale...or, do you think they're having second thought about the sale & are trying to make excuses to back out of the deal?

Doesn't surprise me. I sold some stuff recently on ebay (non Action Force btw) and it clearly stated in the auction that there was no reserve or buy it now price and that you had to have over 10 feedback to bid. The number of emails I got from barely literate fucktards asking if I'd take a stupid price even though they'd just joined Ebay. Yeah I'm really ready to get scammed, yet Ebay aren't interested in policing their own site but still want 20% of the final value as fees.

Factor in the listing fees, final valuation fees, paypal fees, the total on mine were close to 20%. Too much for what is a glorified web hosting.

The real kicker was when they decided that you had to give free postage on all media items - I listed a load of vintage(ish) video games and although some fetched a healthy price, some of them only fetched the opening bid of 99p - so after paying £1.50 postage out of my own pocket on top of ebay and paypal fees I basically ended up paying for people to take my stuff away!!

Back on topic, I am also of the belief that the guy was hoping for more and just doesn't want to sell. What is the going rate anyway? I would have thought £30 was quite a fair price.

eBay makes me laugh. I was watching some auction the other day and the seller wanted £5 plus postage for the item (I think it was some VAM helicopter bits), they didn't sell after 10 days so she relisted for £8 plus postage... :/

I lost out a fair few times back in the day when I was selling off stuff before moving house with fees. And it's against eBay policy to add those fees to your postage rate but everyone seems to do it anyway. Even my dad got sick of eBay whilst trying to sell some low cost items. The whole system isn't geared towards low cost "car boot" items anymore, you have to sell for big money to make any money.

Yeah, sounds like the f*cker just didn't want to sell it for that price. Drop a Neg on the bastard and have done with it.
