Well if you're sad, by implication all of us on here are too and that can't be the case :-D

What's true for all boys is we never really grow up . . . some men just supress their instinct to buy toys and spend money on fast cars instead.

"Toys are all good" :baron: :eagle2: :skip: :levi: :skyraider: . . . say the leaders of Action Force ;-)

The hobby itself isn't sad. Living with your parents when you're deep in your thirties, pretty much is.

I don't really get the stigma attached to the whole living with your parents thing, in fact it looks exceedingly advantageous, you know the landlord, its cheap, you get free house service and you get a truck load of disposable cash. Might move back in actually.

After 20-something it's time to stop being a leech and give your parent's a break, period.

They'll die one day, then what? Find a girlfriend who does your washing? Dream on...

I mean, even this guy is living on his own!

Oi, I resent that stereotyped accusation Jaye!
I don't 'leach' of my parents.
I pay my fair share of all house hold bills, as for cooking & washing it's more economical & ecologically sound for 3 persons to be be done @ once rather than twice @ different times or locations, my father had stroke last year & dispite making a remarkable recovery is in poor health, so I do my fair bit around to help with maintenance & shopping...being a only child no one else is around to look after them in thier old age.

Plus, the way I see it is,I'm not depriving some poor family a home by selfishly single occupying a house I wouldn't have time to live in thanks to working every hour God sent to keep up with mortgage costs. Not knocking any one who does live on thier Todd, every one is cut to thier own cloth..I may make jokes about my own life style & situation in life but I try not to pass judgement on others life choices & domestic situations.

Thundershot, my reaction was mainly triggered by Sundance's "it's nice and handy to have your mum around to do things for you and have more money to spend on you own" posting. To me that is taking advantage of your parents, which is something I don't buy. Especially not when you're old enough to wipe your own ass.

Yes, I do realize the word leech is extremely stereotyping.

Back to you. When somebody is taking care of his parent's that's only a good thing. Too many people are only thinking "me, me, me" nowadays. I respect that a lot, it's an example for others. If my posting made you feel bad (or worse) my sincere apologies. That never was my intention. You are right, never judge the book by it's cover.
