Re: Red Dwarf returns
Years ago Richard Hatch wanted to do a follow-on to the Galactica he was Apollo in but there was a legal battle and instead we got the BSG of recent years his sounded much better and would have had Dirk Benedict back as Starbuck. With Lorne Green dead Apollo was going to be the new commander the 1980 cast was going to be dumped as well as their storyline. I would have preferred his version.
Spock, where the hell's the power you promised?

Re: Red Dwarf returns
So say we all, Baron. 100% agree. ATM I'm watching Buck Rogers. After a week in bed it was quite entertaining. If BSG and Buck had continued you can only imagine what Larson could have achieved.
I also agree with Steve, if it is only half as good as the first 8 series, first 4 in particular, it will sh*t on current programming. As fer V, its not bad but not brilliant. Surely there is someone left with an original plot in his head besides Joss Weadon? What's next, Blakes 7? Saphire and Steele? C'mon.
In response to the impending surely comment all I can say is homage.

Re: Red Dwarf returns
Was thinking about Saphire and Steele the other day (After watching an episode of NCIS). The episode where they where on a train platform and the ghost of WW1 soldiers were about. I remember it scaring the sh*t out of me!
When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?

Yesssssss Master............limps out........
Scared the sh*t outta me too, I have the boxed set but still haven't watched all of em again. When I get a chance I will send you "Under the mountain" a kiwi show from the early 80's that is (was) scary as hell in a similar vein. Not so scary now.
I gotta dredge up my Blakes 7 disks too. I miss ORAC.

Re: Red Dwarf returns
Pink Panther was the worst thing I have ever seen! Peter Sellers would be turning in his grave.

Re: Red Dwarf returns
Knight Rider - fail (for me).
I'm in the middle of watching Assignment 3 of Sapphire & Steel, totally hooked. At the end of the train station assignment it was striking just what a complete bastard Steele was and how great it was that the script writers were prepared to follow through with that idea.
