Theres a cartoon coming out - so it's possible there could be a tie in depending what that is, or a sequel comic down the line.
Of course it was ridiculous, even before hindsight was needed, that not having cobra major players in at the outset was a bad idea

I think they were trying to do follow-on stories so why Zartan never got featured at least is a mystery.

probably because as a condition of the tie-in license they were told 'don't introduce any new Cobras like or whoever', don't introduce new Joes and don't do anything with because we don't know what 2 is going to do.' like how Lucas wouldn't allow any novels to deal with Luke and Leia finding out anything about their mum until after TPM. which was why i wanted to do the Shads as villains in stories: new characters that would probably never appear in the films and who could be killed or maimed as stories dictated and not have to worry.

Sorry Sundance there was a trilogy I think it was the Black Fleet Crisis that had Luke look for his mother before she was named in Phantom Menace. But he was lied to partially it involved a pacifist sect that she was supposed to be in. I have the books at my parents. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Black_Fleet_Crisis

yes, he was LIED TO. he didn't find out anything genuine about his mother because he was LIED TO.
when the author put the proposal in to Lucasfilm for approval, it would've had to have stated clearly that Luke would be LIED TO and would not find out anything genuine about his mother.
that or the author would have been instructed by Lucasfilm during the approvals that he had to make it so Luke was LIED TO and didn't learn anything genuine about his mother.

Belatedly adding my woes to this thread about another inevitable cancellation.... I've had the same thing happen to me for Indiana Jones, Heroes and Prison Break from the same company. Seems they milk the films and popular first series, then run out of steam.
Oh well, good stuff for the kids (and us big kids) to get interested in the community though. And Baron, when you have some provisional dates and stuff lined up for a possible UK con, I'd be happy to help out with 'strategies' for hitting up writers, creators and artists - especially those with UK connections.
Coolio. Steve.
