No not the Star Wars one, or the the massive porno collection but I also buy the odd Scalextric car. They are now vastly different to the old cars from my childhood, they now resemble the car they are modelled on for starters and they go like Robin Williams on cocaine. Just the one photo for you to play spot the car with though:

I have long been tempted to get into Scalextric, ever since I saw that James May Toy Story last year

Ditto
Great collection
These new cars look so detailed & fragile I'd be scared to ever run them on a track, are these ever been out of thier boxes?

Nice selection, ODB. I got a couple of mini's a few months ago. The cars look wicked compared to the 2 vintage metro's my set came with - but my controller doesn't seem to have enough juice on it to get both cars around the corner at the same time - one always falls off the angled bend

Yes I have raced them, some are fragile while others aren't. The makers seem to be learning as most of the cars come with spares and the more fragile parts are made some a soft bendy plastic so there is less chance of snappage. Some of them are wickedly fast (they come with a great big magnet to stick them to the track).
Jim it might be that you need a new power base/supply as well as newer controllers as the newer cars have more powerful motors that need more juice. Also its best to keep the rails on the track nice and clean for the electrical contact.

Thanks for that, ODB. I'll have a look around for some replacements.
