A good read. I'd read about Churchill before, a real hard case by the sounds of it. I've also been meaning to read up more on the Soviet/Finnish war too. No time like the present.

Well. I finally read up on the Winter war and the Continuation war. Boy did the Finn's get the rough end of the Pineapple. Screwed from both sides. They did what they had to do it would seem and I think I'd rather have allied with the Germans than have the Soviets balls up my country too. It cost them dearly tho, and they pretty much got hung out to dry by the Allies, so there you go. Its often easy to forget that not all the things the Allies did were good. The Soviets of course were a bunch of prize a-holes, especially under Stalin who really made Hitler look like a Hi-de-hi holiday camp manager.

In fat, a few of the Eastern block and Northern countries probably would never have sided with the Germans had it not been for the Soviet Union. They were hated (and feared) more than Germany.

if nothing else, it reassures me that no matter what crazy sh*t i get my Action Man and Action Force characters doing in my fan-fic, it's probably saner than stuff that people did in real life!
