unfortunately i've had to get a new computer recently so i switched to the darkside as i've had nothing but trouble with all the pcs i've had in the past.

The problem is my old Fusion software doesn't run on it so im going to use Dreamweaver and was wondering if anybody here uses it (Baron maybe?) and knows of any good tutorial sites, books or dvds for a complete beginner, because as a famous reclusive ginger singer once sang "its all greek to me" :-|

I do use Dreamweaver, and I absolutely love it. Sadly I'm completely self-taught - but I found it extremely smooth to use and soon got the hang of it.

A quick google yielded this: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/?promoid=DRHWV

I expect so, it has an FTP component - but I wouldn't know how.

Haven't worked with dreamweaver for ages, but I remember that was possible.

You edit your site offline and the online version is updated on the fly. No need to do separate FTP-ing, it's all in one.

How come you don't have your files offline available?

Your website should be just standard html files shouldn't it? Or ASP or CFM or whatever. Either way dreamweaver will be able to edit it.

Hand coding FTW! (I loathe dreamweaver!)

Word up! The best HTML-editor ever is notepad.exe!

...if you already know HTML...

Colour coding is VERY useful!
