Blood for the Baron!

Hi, my main passion is transformers which i've been collecting for quite a few years now. I'm a mint in box kind of guy so here's a small look into my collection.







I've loads more including megatron, shockwave, combiners, optimus prime, minibots, predaking, the
list goes on.

When you say 'knock off' Gary, what do you mean?

Are they illegally made copies?

Or are they some kind of identical re-issue like the Action Man 40th anniversary collection?

Is the quality good?

I don't think they are illegal. They are exactly the same as the originals from the eighties apart from minor discrepancies on the boxes. For example, the name on grimlock is Dinobot Bommander instead of commander. Also, the company slips in slight spelling mistakes on the tech spechs or it misses a letter out of the odd word. As for the toys themselves, i've never opened them, although on other forums, they are really good quality. Well worth it for a cheap boxed collection.

I would suggest that they are probably illegal copies.

I used to live in China and the lack of copyright was just incredible.

I honestly coudn't buy a genuine 'anything'. Practically everything was fake, Chinese knock off, even down to things like Colgate Toothpaste. The Chinese way of life was SO anti-American it was hilarious.

They would just make their own version of something from the west. I have quite a few cds from living out there and they all look perfect but have little spelling errors because they are Chinese home-made ones by some Chinese factory owner.

The Transformers sound very similar. Still, that's a great thing if you can buy them for a fraction of the originals. They look superb!

They do look good, I was chatting to a fella that collects these not to long ago and he was saying it is a very expensive hobby, any idea how many transformers there are? He gave me the impression that there's thousands,

Generation 1 alone runs to a couple hundred at least. add in G2, Beast Wars, Machines, Robots in Disguise and the more recent lines and i'd expect 3K total.

Great collection Gaz, you've got all my faves there..the ones that look like real cars & not just folded in half robots
I'd like to know how the knockoff merchants can re-produce Sunstreaker & Wheel-jack when Hasbro/Takara say because the original moulds are damaged they will never be produced again?

I often wonder how this chap got on selling his collection?
