Totally Shocked!

I just had a speculative bid on this Roboskull, which I'm sure some of you will have also been watching. I was amazed to see the final price hit £67!

I now feel very lucky to have got mine for significantly less than this! Has the world gone mad?

And I think it will get much worse over the coming months with the release of the GI Joe Collectors club set. Our wealthy US collectors will be scooping up anything red!

I suspect there may be a bit of speculative buying going on myself. If I were feeling a bit flusher I too would've been snapping up anything red as soon as the the Con Shads were announced, with a view to selling them on as interest in the :shadow: 's grew, and hopefully peaked around the Convention time and slightly after, once folks have read about the Red Shadows in the convention comics.

There will also be a bit of panic buying from the collectors who want to keep, and have been meaning tobuild up their Shadow armies for a while, but now fear the price rises, and so are currently bidding high and trying to get in before interest heightens, but in doing so it is almost a self fulfilling prophecy.

And there you go - my first use of the word "prophecy" in a thread!

I'm also in the lucky position of having a complete collection in nice condition, but I still can't believe the price of that Roboskull. I guess the sterling exchange rate will be helping overseas buyers to purchase at what seem like high prices to those of us in the UK, but are perhaps more realistic once converted to local currency.

I'm glad I kept most of my Action Force toys from new in the 80s

DAMN IT!!! I knew I should have searched, but oh no, confident was I that I'd not used it, and confident nobody would be pedantic enough to check. I failed to allow for the Baron!

There, that's fixed it.

Tiger Force also seems to be expensive at the moment too:
