Good afternoon People!

Has anyone been able to recreate broken Crotches (Not find a replacement and glue it on, but know of a technique where you can make one yourself)?

I'm working on a technique at the moment where I should be able to make a generic crotch, file it down to size, and attach it to the broken figure. If it works I'll let you know. If not I'll withdraw with embarrassment into the shadows...

Andy was able to repair one using a bit of plasticine and some resin I seem to recall, but nobody yet has fabricated one from scratch to my knowledge. I did toy with the idea as part of my ongoing mould making tomfoolery, but I didn't proceed with it, for the purely selfish reason of my not needing any!

That's certainly a good enough reason!
I'm going to try using resin and moulds, and see how it pans out. It may even work for other replacement parts like vehicle weapons etc

It sure does work out mate! It can be fiddly though - better to keep the donor parts simple as possible (I do the Shadow heads in the Store). Problem I would envisage with the crotches is them being hollow. If you plan on using a pourable casting media you generally use a mould that pulls into two parts to release the item. With a crotch there are lots of fiddly parts that the mould could get trapped in. If I can be of any help with the project drop me a line?

That would be very good of you. I will message you to let you know when I start the project. I used to dabble with making facial prosthetics so I've already worked out how to make the moulds in my head

Mould in your head? Nasty.

And I thought I had a problem with voices in my head...
