I'm with you Jaye, if any one mentions the Avengers, Steed & Mrs Peel spring to mind immediately for me.
Mind I'm out of touch with modern culture, when I heard Will Smith was starring in a film called Hancock, I thought "But he looks nothing like Tony".

I immediately thought of Peel and Steed when I saw the thread title too...
But that cartoon looks awesome. Tony Stark took over The Avengers during Civil War.
I know he's always been the money man behind The Avengers though.

You're prolly right, but I think most Britains will think Steed & Peel and not a bunch of Marvel characters.

I had heard of the TV series before the Marvel characters when I was younger and I thought they were the same. I got a UK annual reprinting a few old John Buscema issues.

The cartoon might be good but why are they all wide eyed and square jawed freaks like the Batman cartoons I hate that look?

no, because he reckons he's a big Avengers fan.

and yes, probably most Brits over a certain age would think of Steed and Mrs Peel or Steed, Purdy and Gambit before they thought of Cap, Thor, IM, Wasp and co.
