Any Interest In HASBRO's Action Force ???

Hi all.

I'm just wondering what the feeling is amongst Action Force Palitoy collectors, for the line after it was bought by Hasbro and the Gjioe figures were used with the same card artwork, etc. I'm not really referring to the first articulated Joes who came packaged in the old Red and Blue packaging, but the line when it moved completely to the Gijoe packaging.

Do you guys collect these types of Action Force items? Personally, this area is exact what I collect. As a kid in the USA, I used to love going to comic book specialty stores and purchasing the magazine size "Action Force" comic. I was a fan of Gijoe, but really loved the unique Action Force stories and the whole international approach.

So, I've been trying to collect carded Action Force for a few years now. It's pretty slow going, and that's ok with me (I'm in no rush). If you have any, I'm always interested in buying. Here's a picture of the types of figs I mean (incase some are confused):

So, what are your opinions of this line? Do you like it or do you stick to the straight-armed Palitoy items? Thanks for your replies.

Straight arm Palitoys I collected as a kid, but back then I already thought they were stupidly stiff. First contact with swivels was Quarrel (Scarlet), Steeler and Stalker (Snake Eyes). I thought they were great! :)

By the time Action Force turned into GI Joe I was more interested in beer, girls and masturbating. I was not collecting at that time.

Loose swivels: I consider Action Force the same as GI Joe. Carded items I do not intend to collect intensively, but I do prefer the Euro-versions. Simply because of nostalgia reasons.

I collect both. I too think of Action force and GI Joe as the same. If I'm buying a figure or vehicle I need, I won't care whether the decals say GI Joe or Action force (although funskool vehicles are too brittle so I don't buy them). Any carded or boxed items I buy I open up (including some incredibly expensive things). I think they display better loose than MOC.

Nah, I class 'em as GI Joe, but then I don't go for the pre-Baron era Action Force either. Antybots, maybe you should part-exchange your expensive boxed items with the MOC collectors!? Get the opened equivalent and some cash too, I mean.

Vehicles I class as either AF or GI Joe, due to obvious differences. When it comes to figures that appear the same in both lines I consider them the same.

Too late Baron. Boxed and carded items get opened mere seconds after they arrive. I keep all the packaging though in case I sell them again. In fact, I'm going to offload a mint laser exterminator and shadowtrak soon. Keep an eye out for the auction.

I have never considered Hasbro' Action Force to be anything other than GI Joe. For me it has to be The Baron, Z, Q, SAS and Space force.
