I've started work on the Marvel UK comics, OMG they are so crap. I'm up to issue 13, so quarter of the way there.

My big question is: Is there any point in me doing the monthly comics, seeing as they were released as GI Joe European Missions Stateside?

Were the European Missions comics very popular? Do most Joe fans have a set or what? I know I'm skipping out here, as they are UK comics, but there's actually more strip (15 x 20) there than in the weeklies (50 x 5) meaning twice the work.

Or I may just nick someone else's scans, LOL.

I liked them! I thought that they were all excellent stories, easily on par with the B.A.F. ones. It's the U.S. stuff that usually left something to be desired, though there was good stuff in much of it also...

Yeah, Geoff Senior's artwork is truly fantastic. They're growing on me (again!).

So... European Missions??

Go for it! Many collectors might not be aware of the European Missions. I was fortunate enough to begin collecting the Action Force Weekly here in America while it was still in production in the U.K., so I was aware of the switch to the monthly format. (I loved that the first 6 issues reprinted the entire "Transformes vs. G.I. Joe" story from both titles!)

If you can, Baron, scan anything that was originally in the Transformers run that had to do with Action Force, but not available in the regular A.F. title! I'd love to see that. I'm always looking out for stories that I am missing.

I love these comics as they usually feature characters that didnt get featured a lot in the US stories. And when it did feature characters that had a lot of screen time it added a lot to thier story, Take Storm Shadows story when he goes to avenge his friend that was killed in viet nam.

It also featured lady Jaye and flint alot and I personally liked that.

I also think that now is the best time for action force to start up again with Flint as thier leader. He just left the team in the AE us joe comic lady jaye was killed by the red shadows so it would make sense he would take an assigment to hunt down the red shadows in europe and lead a team

That sounds cool. Please can you let me know which issues feature the new Shadows? I need to catch up badly!

sadly just issues 42 and 43 or was that 41 and 42? well in any case it was the last 2 issues of DDP RAH run but if it was me I would buy the TPB because it features extra content and the one page previews of the red shadows in previous issues. I picked up both, While they dont hint at much of a connection its good to see the RS back and I hope DDP will bring them back soon and give us more connections to have with the old ones

the RS TPB is one of my favorite TPBs and its one that i pick up and read alot
