OCR from jpeg?

Does anybody know of a decent Vista-compatible OCR program that works directly from a jpeg?

What I want to do is feed in all of the cardback scans and lift the text. Then I can paste the text directly into the archive pages.

Essentially, it'll save me having to type out each of the cardbacks for the biographies.

I don't know much about OCR but I also gather that a grey background can cause no end of confusion...

Yeah, its called me. I'd forgotten about them all after this years shenanigans :.

How many more do we have to go? Have you put all the cardbacks up yet? If you have I can cross reference them with the ones I've already typed out. I'll forward all the Cobra datafiles tonight too. Reminds me, I'd better catch up on the Kraken and other assorted customs.

There's tons, mate. I've put all of your transcriptions up, but not all of the cardback scans.
