What made me laugh is he wants it to have a katana style handle for a weapon that has it’s blade & hilt forged seperately.

What made me laugh is he wanted it 4' 13" long and half a foot wide...

A mate of mine's got a few of them "film replica" type swords (along with "life-lke" looking B.B. weapons), his wife got him the Blade one a few years back as a xmas present, you know, the one with the throwing knive built into the handle?
The closest I've got is one of them authentic looking F.X. Lightsabers, "real" swords do look cool, but I think I'd feel uncomfatable with one in the house myself...

Mine is a 17th Century basket hilted tower hanger sword I had made when I was re-enacting in the Sealed Knot I never got to pass my test for sword fighting. I can't go using it in public because of the law now.

It depended on the scenario usually but I started off in a Roundhead regiment but then later left it to be in the Scot's Brigade Ed.
