All I want is a single Cobra Trooper. I don't have any, not even one. I just want someone to fire at my Duke figure!

But everytime I go to bid on one on the 'bay, someone has beaten me to it, and invariably it's someone who already has 2.6 million of the feckers, who lives in a house constructed entirely from cobra troopers, and has the money to carry out his obsession in cornering the market in cobra frigging troopers. I am constantly outbid by people who want to own every one ever made, even the broken ones, and that is their entire reason for living. Feeeeeeeeeeck

Why?

Some people take army building to stupid levels..

There were plenty troopers made; plenty will surface; the army builders will be satiated soon.

There was a similar issue with red shadows not so long back but I can gladly say that they are quite easy to pick up cheap now.

army building with newer figures like that doesn't count. it's just... cheating. that's just going in TRU and filling a trolley. that's easy. ANYONE can do that.

I've managed 2 Red Shads in the past 2 months very cheap. Its all about strategy, keep an eye on em and snipe. More importantly try and find figures that aren't listed properly or job lots with that hidden chap. Does it every time

finishing times are important, if a lot ends on wednesday at 1300hrs you'll have an easy time winning at a good price, if it's on a sunday afternoon you'll have problems.

I have adopted another strategy, there are plenty of great Cobra troops out there alot cheaper than 1983 blue shirts. I am currently building an Alley Viper army, naturally the 1989 version is prob the most expensive, 93 and 94 aren't too bad and bar the odd exception to the rule, non-vintage are very cheap, just got a load, some for 60p.
