Blood for the Baron!

Hello all,

I have recently got back into collecting Action Force models after a brief break away of about 20 years

I dug out my some old figures and have picked up a few on eBay, but I think they need a bit of a clean to tidy them up as they are a bit grubby and dirty from their battles.

I was hoping the collective wisdom here might be able to suggest how best to do this without risking the paint work or decals on the figures.

I tried to do a few searched on the forums and saw wet wipes being suggested. I had thought that a bit of warm soapy water and a soft brush might be best, but I would love to hear your thoughts. just dont want to damage them. So how can I get my Baron Ironblood whiter then white again?

Very dusty items I clean with a damp soft brush.

Yellowing is caused by sunlight. If you want to get the Baron white again, you should bleach him using hydrogenperoxide. Be carefull with that though, it is very agressive! On the internet are a few tutorials on bleaching plastic.

i use baby wipes but for AF figs i find hot soapy water and a soft brush do the trick.

I use WD40 on bog paper, it works a treat. Probably the same result as the wipes, really. Great on vehicles and tolex too, if you're ever repairing guitar amps

I've striped some old AF Palitoy figures of dodgy custom paint jobs for repainting using a strong degreaser and have found the original paint is largely unaffected. They built them to last in the 80's.

Good luck with the collection. It may consume you.

What do you find works best for a figure that's been stuck up a tree for 20 plus years, thus leading to the tree growing around him Andy? A trip to Holland?
