hi, just bought this on e-bay, but then after looking a t your site, think i might have been duped, is this the first issue?

Yes and no. You've not been duped. The story started as a guest slot, the Ascendency storyline, for four issues in plain old Battle. Then came the five freebie minicomics in Battle, Eagle, Roy Of the Rovers and I think Victor.

Then Action Force officially joined Battle comic as regular strip, in the issue you've won. So it's not the first issue of Battle to contain Action Force, but it is the first issue of Battle Action Force.

There is also a variant of that particular issue which was given away free with Eagle, Victor etc. which is virtually identical (I think) except for the fact it has no cover date.

thanks for clearing that up. just got confused when i went to your site and saw it wasn't at the beginning of the list, that coupled with the price seeming low for a first issue

did you ever get any of the free figures that were given away with Battle?
I have the SAS commando, but it differs from the actual release, If I remember correctly these figures were given away free before wave 2 was available, so I wonder if any other variants exist?

I wasn't buying the comic at the time, so missed out on the offer, my first issue was:

I bought loads of copies of that issue of Battle or enough until the newsagent told me to clear off because he had no figures left!
