With Bruce Wayne temporarily written out of the DC Universe, original Robin and longtime Nightwing Dick Grayson gets to wear the cowl... to resounding applause!

"DC Comics may have a full-on hit on their hands in their new Dynamic Duo, at least according to the over 6700 readers that responded to Newsarama's latest reader poll this past week.

The team of Dick Grayson as the new Batman and Damian Wayne as the new Robin who debuted in this past week's Batman & Robin #1 by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely met the early approval of a whopping 74% of the Newsarama readers who participated in the poll.

32% of the fans who responded choose the most positive option, "LOVE 'EM – They can keep the titles permanently as far as I'm concerned," as their choice, with the largest percentage (42%) choosing "LIKE 'EM – Yeah, I liked their 'dynamic'. I could get used to this, for a while anyway."

Blackest Night Batman is due to follow shortly.

No Bruce Wayne? Holy switcharoo batman. I haven't read Batman in years, but it sounds very interesting.

Good for Dick, but it's a shame this happens in the "new" DC. Both DC and Marvel have become dissapoinying (DC with their multiple Kryptonians, "Teen" Titans and other Silver Age knockoffs, and mainly a "Justice League" without J'onn J'onzz, among others; Marvel with its extreme naturalism, the death of Captain America, his post-mortem corruption, etc).

Also, returning to the topic, if DC manages to become a good publisher again, I hope Bruce Wayne never returns.

If it's any help, the original 1940's Robin and the whole of the Earth 2 concept was revived and explored in last year's Justice Society of America Annual 1, (althought THIS picture is actually from a comic simply called 52);

Cheers!

Thanks, Space Commander, but the Earth-2 return is one of the "Silver Age knockoffs" that I was talking about. Maybe I'm getting old... and I'm 23 years old!

Despite that, I still consider Dick as Batman a good thing (maybe one of the few).

Dick took over once before in Prodigal for a short time there is no point in reading Battle for the Cowl now you gave the end result away :roll:

Battle For The Cowl finished more than a few weeks ago, I thought anyone interested would've read it by now... I guess not.
