Can somebody tell me about the Mamba Men? Where did they appear? Who were they? I haven't been able to find anything out, and I'm intrigued.
Thanks

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I spent hours combing Blood For The Baron looking for the Mamba Men with no luck (not that it was wasted time

) And now I know (and knowing is half the battle)

You really want to read Desert Strike and Assault On Atoll Z too, for the complete Z Force trilogy by Vanyo.
Hey, out of curiosity, are you from the same Springfield that the GI Joe comics are set in?

Erm there are something like 50+ towns in the USA with the name Springfield. Is why Larry Hama (GI JOE comic scribe) choose it, as the town could be anywhere. With the exception of Hawaii, every state in the US has at least 1 (and sometimes many more) town called Springfield in it. Originality obviously not a strong point amongst the colonials.
Also as a minor correction, the stories aren't set in Springfield, the town is the undercover HQ (and birthplace) of the Cobra organisation, which developed from the Arbco companys shady business practices.

Ah.... so are all of the Springfield's secret Cobra staging grounds then? Forgive my poor memory, but where was the Pit located?
I actually grew up on Springfield Road!

There was a two part GI Joe cartoon called "There is no place like Springfield" where cobra fake a middle American town and try to convince Shipwreck he has lost his memory about the end of the war with Cobra. The town even has post war imposters of Scarlett and other Joes who have retired to civilian life (Scarlett has ditched the bike for a car with a crossbow emblem on the bonnet). Of course the parrott saves the day.
I never saw these originally, but the cartoons are being rereleased on CD Roms included with some figures here. They're diverting.

NO! No Cobras here, just a sleepy little town, yeah thats the ticket. Yup no Cobras here, it's not a front or anything (what no shifty emoticon?)
Actually the name of my town is not Springfield, but since I live in a quiet nondescript midwestern town very much like the one in the comics, I thought it was appropriate. It would be cool if I did have one of those red uniforms hanging in my closet though. Or maybe I do and this is all just a cover story. . .
