re-dubbed Action Force cartoons
Does anyone know how many they re-dubbed for UK release?
I have The Movie, an M&S release that featured Sythoid Conspiracy Part I & II and also a one off 'Sink The Montana' which came in a cardboard sleeve and was a Mailaway promotion I think.
I know they done Pyramids of Darkness, Arise Serpentor Arise plus a few others, like Captives of Cobra, but didn't know if anyone has the full collection or list?
For those who love or hate these, they did do a crossover in a future based episode of Transformers which featured Cobra Commander in everything but the name, it's a bad episode, but pretty cool crossover.
Dave.

Re: re-dubbed Action Force cartoons
I can't make my mind up as to wether or not I like the group chant of ' Full Force!" or not.
I can appreciate that "Yo Joe!" may not have worked in this country, but they gave in eventually didn't they.
Having said that to my mind I am an Action Force collector, not a GI Joe collector if that makes sense?!??

Re: re-dubbed Action Force cartoons
Dave, this website (formerly known as the brillirant "Quick Kick's theatre") has all the UK VHS releases listed (Tempo/ St. Michael):
http://joeguide.com/videos/
the general rule was that any VHS labelled Action Force, had all the dubbed stuff e.g. "Full Force" in place of "Yo Joe".
There is some crossover with Videos labelled GIJOE the Action Force,
and those labelled GIJOE are the US versions.
btw anyone who bought the US Rhino release of Arise Serpentor- will find that the 5.1 soundtrack begins with the US version then about half way it becomes the UK one, so Sgt. Slaughter becomes Slammer, and the dub over voices are tehn apparent! (the 2.0 sound track is the original US version)
hope this helps.

Full Force is alright. but it kinda falls done in the face of Roadblock's ridiculous rhyming speech-pattern and his chant of 'yo joe, let's go!' becoming 'full force, let's go!'
yo joe just sounds friggin stupid/

Re: re-dubbed Action Force cartoons
If I can get a comprehensive list I will track down and convert the lot. I've been gearing up to do a pile of tapes anyway and I've never seen a AF movie. As cheesy as it might be, it'll probably still have an element of cool (I hope).

I think it's safe to say that all of the war cries having never been invented would be preferable, best to worst IMHO
