An open offer

I've been asked (and offered) on a couple of occasions to act as an intermediary for EBay transactions for sellers who refuse to ship overseas, and it seems to have gone well each time.

If anyone here wants to purchase an item and can't get it shipped, I am offering to place a bid on your behalf and forward the package to you if I/you win the item. All I ask is that you be able to Paypal funds to me upon completion of the auction so I don't get out of pocket for the item's costs. If you can pay enough at that time to cover forwarded shipping costs and paypal fees, than that's great too (I have a pretty good handle on what it will cost to ship to the UK and try not to overcharge). Otherwise, you can make a second payment to me for the forwarded shipping when I get the exact price from the post office. I don't want any markup for this, I will try to charge only exact costs.

Also, there is a better than average chance that I will be going to the GI Joe collector's convention in August. Since speculation is that the convention set will be themed around the Red Shadows, I will be glad to pick up con sets or other items for anyone here who wants one....again, for cost + shipping and fees.

Thanks, volleydan! Do you have any Chap Mei Ospreys or Submarines in your neck of the woods?

I don't mind bidding on or hunting for other toy lines than GI Joe. Only thing is, I don't have any level of familiarity with other lines these days so you'll have to be pretty specific as to what you're looking for. With EBay its not a problem because you can just send me the auction number, but local items could require some explanation. Also, if you're looking for anything locally, please let me know if you collect MIB or loose so I can know whether to pass up an item in a damaged package when/if I find it.

Also, with a five-month-old at home and me working 60 hours a week right now, I don't get to stores much, so please bear with me if it takes me a while to track down some of the stuff that you are looking for......

Ah, I was (mostly) kidding! Jimbo made these fantastic customs from Chap Mei originals, which have since proved to be very elusive.

I'd love to get them, but I think they're pretty hard to find.

Well, the convention set turned out to be a disappointment for anyone hoping for a red shadows set....but I will still be willing to sell my set for very close to cost to anyone here who is willing to pay for the shipping. I am definitely going to the con, but I just don't want a 25th-styled set......
