The Last Temptation of SteveD

It's my nephews birthday next week, he's 3, and we are going to see him this weekend to take his presents. Only problem is one of them I need to go and get tonight from the huge Toys R Us at Meadowhall.
We are currently taking bets on the following:-
1) The likelihood of me leaving said Toys R Us with the only thing we are going for - a little learning game for the lad.
2) The likelihood of me leaving scratch marks from my finger nails on the walls as security has to phsically eject me from the store at closing time (10PM! How cool is that! You can shop for toys until 10, then still catch a few jars in the local on the way home!)
Of relevance in setting the odds is the fact that the better half will be with me, and obviously the promise of a few pints once we are done.
Beer V Toys!
(it may also help to look at the Barons efforts to corrupt me to the ways of Viking lego in the other thread).

Ooh, tough luck laddo, they went off the shelves a couple of years ago.
But I managed to acquire a full used set, with boxes, through the 'bay for a roughly comparable price.
My money is on option 2.

I can't go in Toys R Us - I get all emotional when I see the Sylvanian Families.

Only if I can have a Bagpuss toy
Actually, we've got the whole afternoon free tomorrow, we haven't been to Toys R Us for a while.... I could go to Topshop while we're up there..... hmmmm....
And Hobbycraft is right next door to Toys R Us so we could go and get some brushes and model paints... And I still want to make a diorama for some of the Action Force figures so I could get some stuff for that.
Weekend sorted!
Oh, and Steve - my money's on option 2, only with extra clawing

Is there any furniture left in the Annie & Eddie residence or has it all been pushed to one side to make room for SAS attack troopers mounted on trains, and sylvanian families listening to the trani radio?

We used to have a spare bedroom - no more, no more...

the bed is now fighting for space with AF/Joes, six bin-bags of soft toys, assorted handbags, my summer wardrobe, 1930's clothing, fake-fur coats etc etc etc
our beautiful antique dining table is covered in Get Along Gang, only a matter of time before it invades further!

Be strong Bro. I can go in to Toys R us and just sit in the Star Wars section. Which is right nest to the Corps and GI Joe 25ths atm. Woooohoooo. Bit of a walk to the Lego isle unfortunately. I am resisting the temptation to get a RAM and a HISS and a VAMP..... shakes uncontrollably.......
Also if you don't have a train set, get one. They are absolutely brilliant time wasters. I have no room for mine, but that doesn't stop me

Yes, ANOTHER vice

Tri-ang/hornby stuff.
Does your nephew have an Action Man? If not, why not? Every boy should have one.

Agreed. The genocide in Sylvania is outrageous.
