Variant Commander???

Andy and I have been talking about kitbashing some custom figures lately, and one I had in mind required an
figure... so I just picked one up second-hand on ebay.
He arrived today, and he looks a little unusual. He has a zip down his chest, two zip-up pockets, and a medal.
No picture yet, I'm afraid.
Is this variant rare? Or just one of Palitoy's mix and match figures?

There were a few variant Commanders SC! The "zip down" as you describe him is, I think, one of the rarer variants. I know I've seen threads on it before.
Has he got a tan hat, or red?

I'm not sure he's especially rare - just seems a bit less common than the smoother one. Took me a while longer to get one when I was assembling the ranks.
I like the look of the smoother one myself - he looks like he has a lovely crevat on to me. Might repaint one to have a purple smoking jacket on and a gentlemans pipe.
Whilst on the subject - Baron - do we still need a pic of tan hatted chap for the archive?

Yep, the smoother one looks like he went to a 1930's Officer Training School, doesn't he? I bet he'd love a purple smoking jacket and pipe!

Excellent, I think he should be added to the Action Force the Movie Cast Suggestion thread, I can see him now popping a cap to a Red Shadow and saying;
"Hard Cheese Old Boy!"

Ahhh - just seeing that picture of the gap toothed gent has made me smile away.
I think we should insert him in as honorary supreme Commander of Action Force. We were pondering a while back who was top brass at Action Force - lets have Terry.
