Bristol Toy and Train Collectors Fair

Has anyone ever been to the above? I'm thinking of suggesting to my other half that we pop up to the one this coming Sunday, it's only half an hour away. Seems like they do lots of die-cast and stuff but don't know what there will be in the way of action figures, thought it might be fun though. The guys that run this fair also do the Shepton Mallet (Bath and West Showground fair).

I've been to a few of the comic cons at Bristol Temple Meads, chances are there will be crossover stalls from there, and those affairs are pretty major. If it's the same organisers then it'll be a national event. I'm actually visiting my folks in Taunton this week so may pop along myself. Could I have a link, please?

Hmmm, doesnt say anything about who the organisers are, I think it's probably more of a local gig. There'll probably be some treasures there, if you're only half an hour away and the weather's nice, I'd say go for it!
This is a good site for Midlands-based comic and sci-fi marts
http://www.goldenorbit.co.uk/, there may be something similar for the southwest.

I've heard that the one Bulldog Fairs do at Sheppy is good - it's a lot larger than their Bristol one
cheers for the link

I was in Port Talbot [near Swansea] on Sunday and there was a 'Toy & Train Collector's Fair' on.
I had a look around and was a bit dissapointed. Every stall was either Hornby trains or Dinky/Matchbox cars.
Nothing Action Force. Not even any vintage Star Wars/Lego/Action Man/etc.
I know Port Talbot is hardly the world's centre, but it was pretty lame.
Is there a decent one in Bristol as I wouldn't mind a little visit if there'll actually be some decent AF about...

We've decided we're probably going to hold our horses and wait for the big collectors fair at Shepton Mallet at the end of November

Excuse the "jock" ignorance of the geography on Engalnd but where is Shepton Mallet? I'm on leave at the end of Nov and might journey across the border!

hi Paul, the actual location of the fair is the Bath and West Showground, which is about 5 miles east of Glastonbury - M5 to junction 23 then east along the A39. Can't guarantee it's not going to be all tinplate though, but with 300 stalls estimated it should at least waste half a day!
