Shameless 80's nostalgia

Sorting through loads of stuff my Dad's offloaded on me the other day and finally located a few old photos from back in the day.

Thought I'd share them so that you can all laugh at a very young version of me one Xmas in the mid 80's!

Hoping my tree looks like this this year! Z Force base lurking in the background - too big to be wrapped up!

Image

Unwrapped, and set up ready for action! Space Force Engineer is clearly doing a bit of moonlighting for a few of the Baron's £££££'s!

Image

Proudly showing off the new toys to Grandparents and the camera (big bro got first call on hte Roboskull)...

Image

Proper 80's front room - electric fire, bad blue sofa, patterned carpet - even Ann Diamond on the TV! Space Force have taken up strategic advantage on top of the electric fire, as they look on at Z Force getting put through their paces on the training ground - watched over by the Dog!

Image

Not Action Force - but the same Xmas, and an impresive display of He Man stuff:

Image

And finally, not even toy related at all, but even the cars were cooler back then!

Image

AF collection got much bigger as pocket money and birthdays allowed, but that was the start of it. Little did I know it'd still be growing 25 years later!

Hope this might persuade anyone else to post their AF collections from way back?

Hey, did your Swordfish come with a yellow float, then?

AHHH the assault course!
When I dug through my parents` attic, all I could find was the handgrip from the
ropeslide.
So I rectified that and tracked down the whole thing boxed :)
I remember having the Z Force A.P.C, and it was only half wrapped so I head a sneak peak
before it was opened :)
As for cars, we had a Lada Riva at one point, laugh you may!, but this had leather seats!!!
I`ll see if I can dig out some pics from my parents house and scan e`m in.

Yeah - the swordfish came with the yellow float - all my mates had blue ones, and used to take the mick, saying mine was fake!

I seem to have most of the assault course in bits still - could never get the troops to stay on over the water swing bit though. What was the deal with that - as it wasn't Action Force was it, but seemed to get put alongside the Action Force a lot?

Wow makes you feel like you're back in 83 or 84.

not just the Z Force base and Roboskull, but Castle Greyskull, Point Dread and Snake Mountain Wow

Being a bit older my big Christmas toys were the AT-AT, Millennium Falcon and the cardboard Action Force base.

You know I'm sure we had that same design on our carpet, though it had to go in the end as I continually spilt pop on it as a kid.

thanks for sharing

Just looking again at pics - and noticed the Gurka swords on the wall behind the dinenr table! Forgot all about those! How me and my brother made it to adulthood with all our fingers intact considering the sword fights we used to have with those is beyond me!

One of my best presents was the Z-force APC. I remember seeing it on the top shelf of Camberley toys every time i went in there and was elated when i opened up the present to see the box underneath.

Unfortunatley my excitement was soured when i discovered some scally had already opened it and nicked the roof cover! I spend all xmas day playing with an no roof APC (the Captain got rather chilly!), then had to wait another week whilst my mum took it back to the toy shop to exchange it for a new one!

Luckily i had my Lego castle to keep me going!

The box says that it is compatible with Action Force figures, I`m pretty sure there are a couple of A.F type figures on the front too.
