in your universe?

I've had some ideas of my own, but I will hold off my thoughts until I hear some of yours.

I don't usually combine the 2...or I guess in some ways I ignore the conversion and he is still the Baron.
Though somtimes I do have it that way so I have ragtag bands of Shads bent on revenge... got some ideas formulating in my head for a story.... but as usual so many ideas so little time....speaking of time I should probably get some work done here.

I think I have it both ways too. In my world he IS Cobra Commander but when I think of ideas / dios these are sometimes set in the "past" and have a large Red Shadow army or in the future or present where there is an ever growing threat from the last of the Red Shadows...

The way that I work the story in my universe is that the Red Shadows became too notorious, and, fearing defeat, Ironblood partnered with an up-and-coming organization named Cobra and cut ties from all the Red Shadows.

This made Cobra seem massive, like a two-headed snake.
- 2 Cobra Commanders (also, this is where Ironblood wore the first helmet, a design from Red Laser)
- 2 Baronesses (the AF version becomes the operative known as Chameleon)
- 2 Destros (Jackal was built using MARS tech in the image of Destro)
- 2 Storm Shadows (the AF version becomes Sei Tin, Red Ninja Leader, possibly former Kogi Ninja)

The rest of the Cobra operatives are the same, travelling internationally working for the US Cobra Commander.

Ironblood plots to take over, but in my universe, eventually returns to the Red Shadows when Cobra Commander attempts to assassinate the Baron.

The new Red Shadows rise (Devil's Due) with Black Major leading them as the front man of the organization, with the Baron in hiding, still controlling their moves.

This works well in my mind :)

He doesnt!

He never became Cobra Commander

Red Jackal followed Baron Iron Bloods trail at first but at some point (unknown to him) he lost Baron Iron Bloods Trail and accidently picked up Cobra Commanders trail and discovered Cobra Commander creating a new group

Now Cobra Commander did join the RED SHADOWS for a brief time in his early days though. This was before the events above after his brother was killed and he and Snake eyes Joined hands.

The Red Shadows taught and instructed him in many things and this is how and where a used car salesmen ( cobra commander ) learned how to and subquently was transformed to be a terrorist leader but do to a few incidents that involved the Black Major directly he betrayed the Red Shadows and took off , forming cobra.

The Baron Dissapeard

Black Major Took over the Red Shadows hating the Baron for betraying the RED SHADOWS and hating Cobra Commander for the same reason --- Betrayal

for the rest of the story see RED DAWN coming summer 2008

Granted, I haven't read much of Battle Action Force, but I am aware of the basic story. The way I've always seen it is that Ironblood :baron: temporarily impersonated Cobra Commander :cobracommander:. The 2 may have even planned it together. Imagine how hard it would be to track an international terrorist if he kept randomly showing up on 2 different continents at once. After a while the Baron went underground, and occasionally worked with both Destro, and Mindbender to develop various weapons. Technology used in Skeletron later showed up in the B.A.T.S. The Hyena was refined into the H.I.S.S. etc.

Red Jackal :jackal: is part of the Destro clan, but he is not James McCullen Destro :destro: . He is much more of a thug, than an arms dealer.

Black Major :major: started out as one of the 12" Action Man figures. He occasionally crossed paths with Joe Colton in 'Nam, and other war zones. Eventually he became part of Action Force. He was corrupted, went underground, joined the Red Shadow's. After Ironblood impersonated Cobra Commander, Black Major left with a few loyal Red Shadows. He built his own organization and showed up later in Devils Due.

Flint :marine: , and the other Joe's were sent on a temporary assignment to assist Action Force with the new Cobra threat. He lead the European contingent of G.I. Joe's for about a year before they were permanently reassigned to the US. For the most part this took place prior to his first American appearance.

From what I know of Storm Shadow's :storm: UK origin, it's just too different from the American version. So in some stories it does have to be a different Ninja, but in other stories it can be the American Storm Shadow. Odd's are that the UK version did go on to be one of the other international characters. Sei-Tin/Satan is a possibility. But I think that he moved to South America to become Cobra De Hielo (Ice Cobra). Or perhaps Ice Cobra went to Europe and occasionally impersonated Storm Shadow?

So far I have not encountered a story that contradicts the UK Baroness :baroness: as the US Baroness. So they are the same character to me.

I can't think of any other characters that can't just be the US versions running missions in Europe.
