I have ten of these aerials - mint from the boxes. Free to the first ten people to email me!

Nah, just kidding, but I was wondering just how many people have this most sort-after part?

Image

The box front shows a prototype red colour aerial, but I'm pretty sure it was green plastic. I had about a millimetre and half left of my aerial still trapped inside the big green gun that goes on top of the ATC.

So, my question is, how many on the boards actually have this aerial? I bet most of us have the toy as it is pretty good [although I was never lucky enough to actually have it as a child], but how many actually have a complete one?

Also, if you do have the sacred aerial, could you post a pic for us all to see please,

Hey Paul,

I have two Z-Force Armoured Troop Carriers complete but without the elusive Green Antenna! However, the Antennas that come with both the SAS Silent Attack and Recondo Silent Attack are identical to the Z-Force version with the exception that they are black and tan respectively. I replaced my missing Green Antennas with Black Antennas from SAS Silent Attacks and they're a dam good replacement!

Cheers

Jon

Cheers Buddusky!

My silent attack canoes are both sans aerials sadly!

Could you post a pic of the aerial for me to see please? :doc: :doc: :doc:

All of mine are missing the aeriel and rocket launcher (I have one broken one I can blu-tack on), I only have one complete stretcher too!

I was wondering about this, would it be possible to take a mould of the Silent Attack aeriel, melt down something green like a Shaft and make up a dozen replacement ATC aeriels?

i wonder how much it would cost to produce repro parts, i know a lot of star wars parts / weapons are reproduced but the market is a lot lot bigger...

You know, I have been thinking exactly the same.

There's a guy who I know who makes star wars repro parts. I thought if we had a lot off him, he'd probably cast and make a few aerials for us.

His s.w. stuff is always top notch and identical.

Repro will definately f*ck up the Action Force collecting community as it has already done with Star Wars.

I do pretty much agree with you on that, but this aerial/antenna is SO scarce that I think it is 'allowed'.

As this post is meant to find out, the aerial is something that nearly all of us don't have and almost certainly won't ever have.

Unfortunately, I would have to disagree on this. GoodToGo recently had a C&D Order slapped at them for making repro parts. If this was a strictly Palitoy vehicle, I would argue that the above is true, seeing that the company no longer exists as an entity and no-one probably took up their licencing.

However, the main problem here is that the vehicle is one that Hasbro brought out as part of their GI Joe range. They are starting to aggressively crack down on what they see as infringment of their copyright, no matter how small.

I would suggest that unless you want things to be 100% accurate to the original, or a total purist, why not look around for some of the Chap Mei stuff, or some of these cheap Chinese knock offs, and use parts from those. Occassionally these parts will look better.
