Blood for the Baron!

We used to have three different toy shops in our town, one Brilliant little Independent one (it lasted from at least the early 1970s until the early 1990s) by the bus station, and two in the shopping precinct, one of those was a Toymaster, and the other was a Zodiac Toys.

All long since gone.

I remember buying Action Force from all three of those. I also remember buying from either Woolworths or WHSmith, cant be sure which one.

I seem to remember prices something like ?1.59 or ?1.99. (But I could be completely wrong on that)

Figures I think I bought one every two or three weeks (much as you did), the vehicles were a mixture, some I saved for, but I know I got some for Christmas and Birthdays but in my old age I cant remember which ones.

But I can remember some of the epic battles with Action Force facing the evil Stormtroopers and Darth Vader (after first wiping out the Red Shadows). Action Force Always won

Ahh Princess Leia,

Somehow so much more attractive in Action Figure form than Quarrell.


Graemes mention of the Cardboard base reminded me that we used to use the Cardboard Death Star playset as an Action Force base, which of course meant that lots of Red Shadows met a grisly end in the Trash compactor!

Sadly the playset is long gone, it literally got worn out from being played with.

Ive just remembered the place I bought my first of the later AF figures was one of the old Fashioned Department stores, it was either Fishpools (which is still open, although the toy department is long gone) or the Hounsditch in london (now long gone).
