Japanese GI Joes Collection

Post by Hankster »

Might not be to everyone's taste, but below is my collection of Takara Japanese GI Joes. We got a new bookcase so what better excuse to fill it up with figures!

I decided to collect these as they were around the same price as the AF series 3 cards and much easier to obtain and get a full set.

I love the artwork on these cards and think the Japanese writing looks great and they certainly add something different to Action Force/GI Joe collecting.

Very nice, any chance of close up photos?
When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?

Wow! Thanks for sharing. Is that the complete set then? I'd love to see some individual photos, too, please!

They do indeed. Nice.
Let me tell you, Gunner La-De-Dah Graham, the British Army can fight anything! Intimate or not!

Thanks for the replies all. Yes it's the full set. There are two versions of Duke, one will rolled sleeves and one with cuffed sleeves. Not sure which one is rarer, and only have one.

Picked them all up over around an 18 month period, and have done a few upgrades since. They are quite easy to find on ebay although some harder than others. Snake Eyes was the most expensive, although it was such a beautiful card I couldn't resist, although the bubble is unfortunately going a bit yellow now.

The front of the card is similar to the American GI Joe cards, with the backs like the AF cards with action shots. Would love to know what the bios say though!

Having picked up a few vehicles as well, although these ad expensive especially with postage from Japan.

Few close up photos attached. If anyone wants a particular card let me know.

The art work is particularly brilliant.
