Greetings from the South West UK

Hi folks,

I’m Daniel, 1976 child, loving the site and all things Ironblood.

Loved the comics as a kid, always thought the Shadows looked particularly cool. I had a pretty extensive collection of old school AF, and ‘newer’ Cobra/ AF toys which I sold on a few years back.

I always preferred the GI Joe series republished by Marvel compared with the ‘Baron becomes CC’ UK version.

If I were to sum up my main interest in the series these days I think it would focus on 2 things:

1. I prefer to look at the Cobra / GI Joe story arc as being entirely separate to the original Battle AF version with the Baron. What if the content of ‘World Enemy No.1’ didn’t occur and the Baron carried on his antics with the shadows into ’85, ’86 and beyond? :baron:

2. I’m amazed that with the variety of German model kits out there, especially in 1/35 scale that we don’t see more Red Shadow conversions. That said so many people of my age I speak to don’t seem to have ever heard of the Baron!!! I’m planning on a few conversions to make some ‘real’ shadows etc!!!! :shadow:

As and when my plans reach fruition I’ll post some pics here.

Welcome! I've also been pondering some 1:35 Red Shadow customs but never seem to find the time.

Like most modellers I am high on planning, low on product! That said once I get started I will certainly be posting up here.

I've found some miniatures to convert. Now I'm deciding what the Shadows would be armed with in the 80's. Progress on that is pretty good!

There was a guy who made some tabletop gaming Shadows although I've yet to see any proper scale ones, that would be above awesome to see.

The recently re-issued Air-fix multipose Germans would be a good starting point I think.
