So has there ever been a UK AF Club similar to the GIJCC? It would be cool to get licenced figures using Hasbro moulds like the GIJCC did for Bombadier and Quarrel. You could have a membership figure. What do you guys think ?

The G.I. Joe Collectors Club holds the international license for the brand and all the derivatives, so anything like that has to go through them first, however, they are receptive to their members - members being the key thing to remember. Those that actually support the G.I. Joe Collectors Club by becoming members are supported in return.

For last three years they have produced three new UK based characters each year and featured members of Action Force several times within the comic strips and some amazing cameo's like Trent too.
They have also - for the first time to any third party worldwide - allowed the sale of their exclusives through a channel that is not their own at Roll Out Roll Call in the UK.
In a week's time I will be presenting a panel surrounding Action Force at JoeCon, the third in as many years.
Through IDW, Larry Hama has introduced the Red Shadows and brought them back again into the current issues.
All within 3 years.

There is more going now on a regular basis than ever before, everyone should be all over this.

Buying their figures though eBay is not supporting them and neither does it give them an idea of what YOU want. We can delude ourselves into thinking they come here and keep tabs. They don't. They totally listen, but they listen to their members and also totally aware of where the memberships are geographically. It's not rocket science, but if you want more Action Force characters to return, you need to be part of it and that starts with joining :)

Think of what could be achieved in another 3 years if there was a full strong group effort? :)

Great points, Dave. The only thing that has put me off was wondering about the customs fees on stuff. Anyone UK based who has been a member and if so how easy is it to join/any customs issues/ any other issues with shipments?

I have been a member for a few years the only problem I had was having to ask them to resend magazines as I didn't get them when I should have done. The items I bought from the store have been ok I had no issues in receiving them.

I had no problems when I was a member. Got all my magazines and the free figure although I didn't order anything from the shop. The only problem I had was trying to sign up for FSS1 when their system didn't recognize a UK address (or my address anyway).

That may be where a shipping address was different to the billing address, I remember there was something like that on my first one, but all been sorted since.

This lost in international post happens, but they are usually pretty responsive in sending out replacements if you let them know :)

On store purchases expect to pay customs charges as you would with any other US based business. On the membership, I've never paid any duty and on Figure Subscription Service it works out about 50% of the items sent get a customs charge.

Nah it wasn't I was using the same address for both and it just wouldn't accept my address. But like I say that was for FSS1 so I imagine it wouldn't be a problem now.
